hari raya haji
me and my cousin priscilla! (: she's.. 28? still looks darn young eh? yeps.. laura look! wahahahahs!
had lunch at pioneer spring restaurant with my extended family! (: was fun! heehees.. it was good.. didn't regret going for that loooong two and a half hour lunch.. (: learnt lotsa stuff, like priscilla and laura both play in the national team for hockey and in the same club too! woohoos.. the world IS small. hahahs.. then we decided to play with laura.. hahahs! make her guess and keep her in suspense.. but unfortunately.. she's too smart. she guessed it was priscilla le. first guess and she got it right la! sians. thought we'd have some fun making her go round in circles. ):
went to my granduncle's house after that with adam and melody and our parents. was okay.. watched some tv there.. some gameshow hosted by wu zongxian. the funny taimanese host. seems like mel watches quite a bit of tv eh? (: at least she knew what was going to happen.. (:
after we left our granduncle's house, my dad dropped me and my mum off at bugis for us to go SHOPPING! it's only now that i realise how much i hate shopping. especially in crowded areas. i don't like walking around aimlessly.. anyways, i managed to get 3 spag tops from b.u.m. equipment. they're basically the same. just in different colours. hahahs! i like to have the same clothes in different colours. dunno why also.. it's just me.. then finally bought a pair of shoes. my mum was pestering me to get a pair of proper shoes and not flip flops. sigh. just to get her off my back i decided to get one.. no guarantees i'll wear it often.. but i think i would since they're already there. i'm lazy.. i hope i don't have to go shopping soon.. but i really wanna get a pair of converse shoes! and not forgetting another pair of jeans. and that waterbottle from j8. hahahs.. 3 items on my wishlist now. better start saving up!

camera frenzy
brought my cam to school today. had fun snapping pictures of all my classmates. (: heehees! it was fun fun fun all the way.
had sort of like a show-and-tell thing for gp today.. my turn to speak so i brought my album of photos.. wahahahas! i so cute.. cannot take it le. (: diew. kays. i'm high. anyways.. i only spoke for about half an hour before i decided to cut short everything and stop talking. i was ony through half my content la! hahahs.. i can yak and yak.. (: my forte.
then had pe. oh my goodness. my knees were wobbly after pe. we did 2 rounds warm up, 3 rounds jog+sprint, skipped 200, 30 sit ups, 21 dips, 20 front whatever-you-call-it, 20 of something else. aiyah. all in all it was just VERY TIRING. yea. in one period. but i was thankful she didn't make us run up angmokio hill. it was so hot and humid and sunny, i would have just collapsed along the way la.. yes yes, i'm very unfit..
oh! bought new year clothes. well, some la. 3 skirts-one maroon furry one, one denim and one black. niceness! (: two tops. but they're pretty plain tops. haven't really seen many that've caught my fancy yet. i wanna get a new pair of jeans too. ho ho ho. shopping time.. yes, i've taken a little fancy to skirts now. i'm more comfortable with the idea of wearing skirts since i wear them everyday to school. and i think i've learnt a thing or two on how to not expose myself. i think. hahahs.. if jasper were reading this i'm sure he'd have alot to say. and disagree with me. on the part where i CLAIM to have learnt how to not expose myself. oh wells..

lion[ess] roars
"in the jungle, the mighty jungle, the LION sleeps tonight.. " this is what my dear choir junior simin sings everytime she sees me. grrr. oh wells. i guess it's the fringe. oh wells. face it jeanette.. you DO look like a lion with a mane. and i feel like a lion too. HMMM. (:
so i've been getting funny stares all day at school. cos of my new hair cut. hahahs.. argh.
choir was pretty fun today! (: learnt choreography for joyful joyful and it was good! well done to the choreographers! job well done. (: very well done! hees! standing next to clement sim is indeed bad for the soul. he is corrupting my mind. just like what jasper did to me. HMMM. but he's quite funny i think. went dinner with lianghao and the two deyi choir peeps whom we fondly refer to as rubben and kelly. (: hahahs! met zhizhong and daniel on the way there.. hahahs! mmy cute didi.. and hahahs.. fantasia[zz]? (: then me and lianghao talked about lotsa things. stuff. about the zookeeper. WAHAHAHS! (:
been looking through my childhood photos.. realised i hated taking photos in sec school. still don't like it too much but for memories sake.. oh wells. feeling better in the mind.
a part of some conversation we had today.. mark writing his letter to his secret pal.. us waiting for him..
vanessa: how do you wanna end the letter?
mark: anything la! you say lor.
yu ying: okays.. try.. lotsa hugs and kisses! that's way girly.. sure to throw your secret pal off guard!
mark: no cannot! i always use that!

hookay. (: this is just what happened today. was so farnie la! (: hahahs.. oh.. another one..
went to nyp to eat with ORULA! (: actually it was just me, priscillia, shenglong, qihao, xianglong, roland, teckhao, zhixiong, welyon. hahahs! so the guys all ordered food[like chicken rice and stuffs] while me and priscillia took chwee kueh. zhixiong didn't order anything. so i started going round to kope some of the food from the guys.. like deer meat. chicken meat. in exchange for some caipo! hahahs! was so farnie la! the guys had bewildered expressions on their faces. (: should do that again one day. hees! (:
wows. i realise that i'm prety lagging in terms of the latest happenings in my ORULA! hees.. like.. priscillia and roland? and the bit about xianglong breaking up with jeslyn? HMMM. must have a good talk with him.. -shakes head-
okays.. so today wasn't as bad as i expected it to be. (: but lirong's sick! poor girl. hope she gets well soon. thought i saw her in school today though. HMM. ANYWAYS. tomorrow's gonna be a great day. hees! no brainer la! my timetable for tomorrow:

pearl of my life.
i hereby dedicate this short post to pearl lam hui chern. a gem of my life. a toast to our 9 years of friendship.
hey pearl! it's been a long time since we've met.. hahahs! and we always have fun when we're together.. ping pong.. swimming [where we "saw" mark chay? hahahs!].. handbells.. and many other activities.. i know i'm kinda slow.. but i just realised that you mean so very much to me. i'm not gonna write the letter to you alone cos i want the whole world to know what a good friend you are. thanks for being there all the time, for taking my rubbish in your stride [i know how terrible i can be at times.. i'm so sorry!]. i can't remember anyone who has stood by me the way you did. no matter what everybody else said, you still remained a true and loyal friend. thank you for that. (: you know what? when i think of pl, i think of you. you have been in my life throughout my schooling years in pl.. schoolbus mates, classmates, handbells.. you have become so much a part of me.. you know what? i think you're one of the best testimonies for God that i've ever known. to all out there.. pearl has no enemies.. the only ones who don't like her are those who are jealous that she can get along so well with everyone.. and that she's such a nice person and they're not. thank you for accepting me for who i am.. know i know what the chinese saying means.. words are just not enough to express how i feel. i still remember in sec 2 when we were classmates.. i sprained my ankle during captain's ball and ms yeo attended to my ankle while you stood by us all the time.. it was teacher's day celebrations and the concert was about to begin soon[teacher's day concert is one of the not-to-be-missed concerts of the year].. but you carried me up the stairs piggy-back to our class to rest a while. i know i'm not light.. (: i was so touched cos you insisted on carrying me. your genuineness differentiates you from all the others. you're so sincere, so loving. thank you for being pearl.

today was lotsa fun fun fun. shadowing auntie jennifer as a children's worship leader. (: had a break so i decided to go to the sanctuary to sit a while before service started. well.. that's before i saw kyra. (: she's so chubby and cute! (: hahahs. turning 3 next month. and she was with her gramma. i guess her parents were working? so she was walking with gramma and then she saw me and smiled and pointed to me.. then her gramma saw me and she was like.. "oh.. you wanna play with che che[auntie evelyn's very kantan..]?" to which she nodded.. so i took her to see if she wanted to eat.. then she asked for coffee! fancy a 3yr old drinking coffee. (: so of course i didn't give it to her la. then took her to the play area where we met joel, another little boy. auntie angelin's 3yr old son. oh by the way, auntie angelin is kwei's friend. yup. from moe's music branch. some music director. i think i mentioned this before. yup yup. so there was me, kyra, joel and joel's younger sister who's adopted. then she bugged me to carry her and i did, but i think kyra wasn't too happy about sharing the attention. so i went back to playing with cute kyra.. and then came kendric. oh my goodness. hahahs! he's the cutest baby i've ever met la. cannot resist le.. so i played with the two of them.. kendric's 20 mths old.. then i took the both of them to see champ, vicar's jack russell. met my dad on the way and he was like.. "oh! i got 2 grandchildren alreadY?" (: and then champ barked at the two of them.. kendric's pic is below.. anyway, he was so scared he clung on to my leg and started crying.. kyra just looked afraid but didn't cry.. so i picked kendric up and led kyra by the hand back to the play area. ahahhs.. when i carried kendric, he stopped crying. the power of jeanette.. wahahahhs! then i brought kyra back to her granddad cos i had to go and then joel started clinging to me.. and i was like.. oh no. and i had to loosen his grip on me and then i left quickly to look for kendric.. to bring him to service with me. (:

just back from the ARISE kid's worship concert by cathie and brendon clancy. (: all hyped up now for iSOW. that's international school of worship. (: I'M READY! (: hahahs.. i think i had more fun than the kids at the concert la! (: today was simply fantabulous! (:
my brother got commissioned as a home fellowship group [in short HFG] leader today, layreaders got their liscences.. our layreaders are actually like the altarboys.. sort of la. they're also mini priests. (: complicated stuff. they're called layREADERS cos the anglican service of old was READ out, no songs no nothing, contrary to the catholic service of today. but now there's song, the name is just kept. (:
then went for the ARISE concert, took a chartered bus from church. (: i sat next to baby kendric..
kendric! that's him! (: yup. he's super cute la! (: then we weren't anywhere near the indoor stadium, near paya lebar there where he fell asleep in my arms. (: how sweet. oh dear. the bio clock is ticking away. WAHAHAHS! (: and his mama [lily] came to check on him, only to find him fast asleep in my arms.. she smiled and went back to attend to her older son fredric. (:
and then.. lo and behold.. auntie jennifer [marc and stuart's mama] said to auntie vina loudly.. wow. jeanette really makes a very good daughter-in-law! if only she could be my daughter-in-law.. to which auntie vina laughed and said to me.. she's got two sons, marc one year older than you and stuart you age.. take your pick. which one do you want? errr. RIGHT. to which i smiled and shrugged, fully aware of auntie jennifer looking at me for my response. like.. HELLO! i won't risk getting scratched by michelle. we're finally on good terms now and i'm not gonna risk that. not for marc. BESIDES. i'm not interested in either of her boys.. yea, sure, they're by cell members and friends, but that's gonna remain like that. for a long long long time.. sorry to disappoint you auntie jen..
i realised that mothers are very strong people. physically. really! my arm was aching from cradling kendric. although he's only 20 months. my left arm was supporting his neck. so i had to hold his neck up and try to steady him thoughout the bumpy ride. but it was fun.. (: and he's so cute. AHHHH! (:
so had fun during the concert, then was looking after 5 boys. 5 rowdy, active boys-ezra, jenn yean, zheeron, justus and terence. and geok ying[jenn yean and ezra's mother] was like..wow! jeanette! 5 boys?!??!?! i take my hat off to you.. hahahs.. right.. (: just doing my job as their sunday school teacher.. well actually, it's my passion. cos kids can teach you alot of things. like innocence. attentiveness. obedience.
and then when we finally got back to church, auntie jen kept hinting to me like on the bus to the concert. hahahs.. really no interest auntie jen.. hahahs.. gosh. i think i'm gonna be avoiding her for a while. to be on the safe side. (:

i've finally fixed my layout. not totally satisfied with it, but it will do for the time being. (: did a major cleaning of my room, threw/gave away more than 6 bagfuls of stuffs! can you imagine that! (: jeanette's room was once full of rubbish. -shudders-
school's starting real soon, not looking forward to it. well, not as much as i did last year considering i have holiday homework still undone. gosh. help! hahahs.. oh wells. i've given up le. do as much as i can i guess. the teachers wanna kill me.. i can't help it. oh wells.
got a list of my orientation group peeps already. (: they're the only reason i look forward to monday. hahahs! new faces. (: couldn't be more pleased. and already one girl said she's gonna join choir! wheee! but mark was like.. auditions this year are gonna be tougher.. i hope. so oh wells. good luck priscillia! [hahahs.. like she'll read this..] so there's 2 girls who have instantly just started opening up and yakking even before i've met them. that's a good thing. (: yayness.
